Through hands-on coastal sampling, estuarine studies, species identification, lab analysis, and fisheries workshops, participants engage with both the science and the socio-ecology of marine conservation. This program merges field observation, lab methodology, and policy understanding—building ecological literacy rooted in place.

• Conduct ecological surveys and water quality testing
• Analyze coastal dynamics and socio-ecological systems
• Assess conservation challenges and policy impacts
• Work safely in dynamic coastal environments
• Synthesize ecological data into evidence-based reports
• Reflect on sustainability challenges and solutions
Eligibility:

• Interest in marine biology, ecology, environmental science, or conservation
• Application + teacher recommendation required
• Passport required
• Student must reside or be a student in Huron or Erie County
Why This Program?
