OUR MISSION —

The Geotrac Foundation expands the worldview of our greater Firelands area with a primary focus on young people through immersive learning, cross‐cultural engagement, and leadership development — locally and globally — preparing them to live with integrity, take responsibility, and contribute wisely to a free and flourishing society.

OUR VISION —

The Geotrac Foundation creates transformative learning experiences that bring individuals into direct contact with big ideas, diverse cultures, and real‐world challenges. We believe every person has inherent dignity and unique potential, and that genuine freedom must be matched by personal responsibility. By fostering curiosity, empathy, critical thinking, and leadership, we help emerging generations understand the world they inherit, honor those who came before them, and steward freedom, institutions, and opportunities so that those who come after them can thrive.

In addition, we envision a community that sees its young people as a sacred trust and prepares them to live wisely in a complex world. Curious, compassionate, and courageous, they engage diverse cultures and ideas without surrendering to moral relativism, honoring the divine spark in every person. Grateful for those who came before and mindful of those yet to be born, they steward freedom, faith, and opportunity so that human flourishing — life more abundantly — can grow across generations.

Who We Are

We are architects of immersive learning experiences. We don’t operate programs, we partner with world-class educators, researchers, and community leaders to create opportunities that few young people ever encounter.

A student in our Global Scholars program doesn’t read about glaciology in a textbook. They stand on the Juneau ice field, collecting climate data alongside active researchers. Another doesn’t study refugee policy in isolation. They sit in dialogue with individuals who’ve navigated displacement, hearing firsthand stories of resilience and belonging.

This is learning rooted in place, driven by inquiry, and powered by real-world challenges.

OUR APPROACH — HOW WE CREATE TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING

Students learn by being immersed in real-world environments and experiences. Rather than studying concepts abstractly, they investigate authentic questions, conduct field research, analyze real data, and create solutions to genuine problems. This approach, grounded in experiential learning, leads to deeper understanding and lasting impact and change.
